Blocking System of Valve Hall in Converter Station
China has built the world's largest DC transmission system, and the valve hall of the converter station is the core of the system. Since 2016, there have been many fire accidents in China, and the traditional valve hall casing blocking (single-layer rock wool board structure) has become the weak link for fireworks to enter the valve hall. In 2018, Shire responded to the requirements of the two networks and took the lead in developing a SPS-V5 converter station blocking system (anti-explosion and fire-resistant separation structure), which was widely used in engineering. In 2023, WorldWare introduced the SPS-V9 system (anti-explosion and fire-resistant integrated structure), once again promoting the progress of the industry.

SPS-V5 plugging system Shirui SPS-V5 system is the first blocking system in China to pass the tests of the three major refractory institutions of Beijing Academy of Construction Sciences, Shanghai Academy of Construction Sciences and Sichuan Fire Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security. As of 2024, it is the only blocking scheme for converter stations used by Nanwang Company and the standard technical scheme of State Grid Company, with a domestic market share of more than 70%. The innovations of the world's SPS-V5 system are: 1. Diamond plate (stainless steel surface aluminum silicate composite fireproof plate), can withstand hydrocarbon fire at 1200 ℃ for 4 hours. 2. The fire retaining ring can vibrate synchronously with the casing. When a fire occurs, it can effectively ensure the tightness of the small sealing. 3. Anti-explosion windows, instead of anti-explosion doors, not only can effectively relieve pressure, do not affect the fire protection structure, but also are more cost-effective. 4. Multi-layer system structure (fire protection layer-air insulation layer-temperature insulation layer), the system has no smoke, and the temperature rise of the back plate does not exceed 70 °. 5. Modular structure, on-site splicing construction, working time 72 hours 6. One-way construction from the valve hall side, no damage to the equipment. |

SPS-V9 plugging system In 2020, Shirui started the study of the anti-explosive fire-resistant integrated sealing system. In 2022, Shirui undertook the scientific and technological project of "Research on Key Materials and Application Technology of Anti-explosion/Fire Protection Integration of Valve Hall Blocking System in UHV Converter Station" by the headquarters of State Grid Corporation. In 2023, Shirui SPS-V9 anti-explosion and fire-resistant integrated plugging system passed a full set of tests under the witness of the two network companies. The innovations of the world's SPS-V9 system are: 1. The anti-knock performance of the integrated plate exceeds 500kPa 2, one plate can withstand hydrocarbon fire 1200 ℃,4 hours 3. The one-piece plate is more compact, the thickness is only 150mm, and the separation structure is about 610mm 4. The installation operation is more simplified, and a single disassembly and assembly only takes 24 hours |
